News and information beyond the classroom

Dear graduates,

Thank you for your patience as VCU continues to evaluate the safest way to celebrate your tremendous accomplishments and the resilience of the Class of 2021. You have displayed an amazing commitment to innovation and excellence during these unprecedented times.

Taking into consideration the desires of our students and the safety of our community, VCU will continue to monitor the restrictions on large-scale gatherings. At this time VCU is exploring all the safest possible options. We will provide additional updates to you and your families later this month, as we consult the guidance from VCU’s Public Health Response Team, the Governor of Virginia, and the Virginia Department of Health.

As you prepare for graduation, we invite you and your family to visit the VCU Commencement website — commencement.vcu.edu — for the most current information, including various ways to recognize your achievements. For instance, you will find information about the Countdown to Graduation, ordering your class ring and announcements, purchasing your cap and gown, and more. Many of these services are available without the need to be present at Grad Fair.

Academic regalia will be available to purchase during Grad Fair, which will be held on the Monroe Park Campus Barnes & Noble @ VCU March 29 to April 2, 2021 between 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please allow additional time to queue for social distancing measures, and book an appointment slot for your graduation portraits and class rings ahead of time. If you are unable to purchase your regalia from the Barnes & Noble @ VCU locations, please visit VCU Balfour website to purchase starting April 3, 2021. Shipping charges will apply. Regalia assistance will also be available starting April 3.

Congratulations again on your accomplishments! If you have additional questions, please contact univevents@vcu.edu

Best,

Reuban B. Rodriguez, Ed.D.
Associate Vice Provost and Dean of Students
