School of Social Work’s virtual Commencement ceremony: 11 a.m. May 8, 2020
In this unprecedented time, the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Social Work is holding a Commencement ceremony unlike any other – a virtual celebration of our graduating students via a live Facebook stream.
On behalf of the administration, faculty and staff, the school cordially invites everyone – graduates and students, family and friends, and alumni and community partners – to watch, comment and share photos as we honor our graduates for their accomplishments. Who: Celebrating 1 Ph.D. graduate, 171 M.S.W. graduates and 117 B.S.W. gradates
Program: A flip-through and searchable version; an accessible and print-friendly version; and an accessible and mobile-friendly version.

University Commencement
Virtual ceremony: VCU will be launching a site at 10 a.m. Friday, May 8, that includes a short speech from President Rao and all the college and school deans, slides of graduates, and a live social feed. Details
- Commencement program: A PDF of the university program will be available to download May 8.
- Degree conferral: Degrees will post to students’ records on Tuesday, May 26. Degrees will not appear on academic transcripts until this date.
- Diplomas: Will be mailed beginning Monday, June 22, to the address provided during graduation checkout. To receive their diplomas, students must meet all financial obligations to the university.
