M.S.W. student, Emily Goins to receive the Helen Pinkus award
Congratulations to Emily Goins, this year’s recipient of the Helen Pinkus award.
The Virginia Commonwealth University School of Social Work and the Virginia Society for Clinical Social Work jointly make this award to a student who embodies the work of Helen Pinkus. Helen was a highly respected practitioner, thought leader and educator in social work. The school and clinical society have partnered for many years to celebrate, in her honor, promising students who are poised for professional success.
Emily was awarded the Anne Fischer scholarship in 2013 and is a current Master of Social Work student at VCU.
Her passion to assist children and families as a youth counselor is ever growing. The support that Emily has received through these awards has allowed her to continue to focus on future goals.
