3rd and 4th Year Clerkships

(2 week and 4 week)

Riverside Family Medicine Residency offers 3rd and 4th year clinical clerkships. Students participate in a variety of activities including seeing patients in the outpatient setting,  following patients in the hospital;  and may include working with primary care local sports physicians, and at the local health department (Peninsula Health Center).   Clerkship positions are offered only to students from US schools, and are on a first-come, first-serve basis.

A two-bedroom apartment is available as a courtesy to our out of town students, subject to availability.  The apartment has 2 twin beds in each room, a bathroom, dining area, living room, full kitchen, internet, and a washer/dryer. You will be sharing the apartment with up to three other medical studentsRiverside cannot guarantee separate rooms for males and females.  COVID Update:  apartment is limited to two students currently, further limiting availability during the 2021-2022 academic year.

Out of state schools: Your medical school must provide and maintain full professional liability coverage with minimum limits necessary to meet the limits under Va. Code Ann.  § 8.01-5.81.15 Limitation on recovery per malpractice case is $2,500,000 per claim, $7,500,000 aggregate.  This is a Virginia State law and unfortunately, Riverside will not accept any student without full coverage.
