Sallie Mayer, assistant professor in the Department of Pharmacy, made headlines Oct. 11 in the Richmond Times-Dispatch. She was one of 17 people from St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church who volunteered time with CrossOver Ministry’s main clinic as a hometown medical mission. Victor Yanchick, dean of the School of Pharmacy, made headlines in his alma mater’s alumni newsletter, the University of Iowa’s HAWKscripts. The featured item, which isn’t yet online, focused on Yanchick’s induction as president of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy. Yanchick received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in pharmacy at University of Iowa (and his Ph.D. in pharmacy at Purdue University).
Dennis Stanley (B.S. ’74), Wellness Center Manager for Ukrop’s Pharmacy in Short Pump, made headlines in a Pharmacy Today Immunization Supplement. Tara Kompare (Pharm.D. ’02), who works as a clinical coordinator for Kerr Drug/KDI Health Solutions, made headlines in Pharmacy Today for her new book, “The Colic Chronicles: A Mother’s Survival Guide to Calming Your Baby While Keeping Your Cool.” The book was inspired by her own experience with colic and postpartum depression.
