The big (pharmaceutical) APPLE
In February, at American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy’s interim meeting, VCU School of Pharmacy and Buford Road Pharmacy will pick up a 2008 AACP Crystal APPLE Award.
The school and pharmacy are one of eight partnerships nationwide to be recognized by the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy for successfully conducting and supporting quality experiential education for student pharmacists.
School of Pharmacy Dean Victor A. Yanchick; Beverly A. Talluto, assistant dean for experiential education; and Ronald G. Davis, owner and pharmacist in charge at Buford Road Pharmacy, will be recognized at an awards ceremony at the Crystal Gateway Marriott Hotel in Arlington.
APPLE stands for Academic-Practice Partnerships for Learning Excellence. Other academic winners of the award are the schools of pharmacy at Northeastern University, Samford University, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, University of Cincinnati, University of Maryland, University of Michigan and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
