The fall 2008 issue of Scarab, the MCV Alumni Association magazine, is scheduled for publication this week. When you receive your copy, look for features on:

  • The Inova Campus Schools of Pharmacy and Medicine … along with photos of fourth-year pharmacy students Delali Adeka, Melissa Brandt, Mulu Kafel, Scott Kim and Kelley D. Mills (page 5).
  • Gene White (B.S. ’56), former SOP associate dean of admissions. His goal for the year – at age 75 – is to have completed 16 triathlons and three duathlons (page 11).
  • The Raddin family’s MCV Campus legacy, including Heather Raddin (Pharm.D. ’01) and Emilie Raddin (Pharm.D. ’06). Heather works for Ukrop’s Pharmacy, and Emilie is a pharmacist with Target (page 20).
  • Tom Rorrer (B.S. ’52) and the late Camilla Walden Jeffries (B.S. ’43), who helped him with a rocky senior year (financially speaking). Since then, Rorrer has endowed several scholarships with the School of Pharmacy. The story also mentions the late Charles T. Rector (B.S. ’52), Jack Stallard (B.S. ’54) and Bob (B.S. ’57) and Gene (B.S. ’58) Rorrer (page 27).

Also, check out the Scarab for class notes – aka Vital Signs — on School of Pharmacy alums beginning on page 28.
