Jean-Venable “Kelly” R. Goode’s (P’89) Community Pharmacy Practice and Residency Program at VCU School of Pharmacy has received a 2008 Pinnacle Award.

The award, in the group practice category, was for the Ukrop’s Pharmacy immunization initiative.

The American Pharmacists Association Foundation established the Pinnacle Awards 10 years ago to recognize significant contributions to the medication use process. The group practice category is open to group practices, health systems and health-care corporations.

Other award winners were Daniel E. Buffington, president and CEO of Clinical Pharmacology Services Inc. in Tampa, Fla. (individual category) and the National Diabetes Education Program in Rockville, Md. (voluntary health agency category).

The awards ceremony was held in June at the Italian Embassy in Washington.
