Jeanne Walter, Ph.D., RN, FAAMA, clinical assistant professor and director of undergraduate programs, and Carley Lovell, M.S., M.A., RN, WHNP-BC, clinical assistant professor, will conduct a presentation Thursday, Dec. 8 on how art is being used to promote health and  healing. “Community Conversation: Art & Health” will be held 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.

Walter and Lovell will discuss “VCU Art of Nursing,” the collaborative project between the School of Nursing and the VCU Department of Art Education. Sara Wilson-McKay, Ph.D., chair of the Department of Art Education, and Annie Cantrell, a first-year accelerated B.S. student with the School of Nursing, will join the discussion. The presenters will focus on the many different community programs that use VMFA’s permanent collection as a means of addressing wellness, including ArtLINKS, and VCU Nursing.

The event is free but tickets are required and must be reserved online.
