School of Nursing hosts Reunion Weekend
The VCU School of Nursing celebrated its 2016 Reunion Weekend with a variety of activities, including an investiture ceremony for Debra Barksdale, Ph.D., FNP-BC, CNE, FAANP, FAAN, associate dean of academic programs, who received a medallion for being named the Nursing Alumni Endowed Professor. The weekend’s activities also included an alumni brunch, a State of the School address by Jean Giddens, Ph.D., RN, FAAN, dean and professor, as well as the presentation of alumni awards.
This year’s nursing alumni award recipients are Trula Minton, RN (B.S.‘79/N; M.S.’88/N), chief nursing executive, Chippenham and Johnston-Willis Hospitals, for Outstanding Practice, Stephanie Ferguson, Ph.D., RN, FAAN (M.S. 87/N), international health care consultant, for Outstanding Service, and Tracy Williams, DNP, RN (M.S.’88/N), senior vice president and system chief nursing officer for Norton Healthcare for Outstanding Alumna.
