Recent graduate Katherine Connell featured in article on VCU News Center
School of Nursing alumna Katherine Connell (B.S.’15/N) and Nursing Students Without Borders (NSWB) were recently featured on the VCU News Center in an article about VCU students’ international service trips. The article highlighted Connell’s visit to Guatemala in 2014 as part of NSWB’s joint humanitarian aid trip with the Highland Support Project, a Richmond, Virginia-based nonprofit organization.
Connell and other NSWB members hosted health care education workshops and conducted health screenings that included weight, height and glucose readings. They also helped local families build stoves so that they would have a safer, cleaner method for cooking meals.
