Allison Gregory to Serve as Agency Subordinate for the Joint Committee of the Boards of Nursing and Medicine
In April, Allison Gregory, M.S., RN, FNP-BC, clinical assistant professor, will begin hearing cases as an agency subordinate for the Joint Committee of the Boards of Nursing and Medicine. As an agency subordinate, Gregory will complete the initial informal fact-finding proceeding for advanced practice registered nurses who may be in violation of a law or regulation and submit a recommended sanction for approval to the Joint Committee. Under the Code of Virginia, the Board of Nursing is authorized to delegate certain classes of cases to agency subordinates who must have experience in conducting hearing and knowledge of laws and regulations governing nurses. From 2010-2014, Gregory served on the Virginia Board of Nursing as an RN member as well as the Joint Committee of the Boards of Nursing and Medicine.
