Gail Johnson, RN, CFE (B.S.’67/N; M.S.’76/N), was recently presented with the 2015 March of Dimes Virginia Nightingale Award and will also serve as the honorary chair of the 2015 March of Dimes Virginia Nurse of the Year Awards Gala. The annual award recognizes a Virginia nurse who is also a successful business leader in the Commonwealth. Johnson, who received the award at the Nightingale Night reception Jan. 29, was honored for her compassion, devotion to the community and the discipline of nursing, as well as for her entrepreneurial creativity and success.

Johnson is the founder and owner of Rainbow Station, the nation’s premier provider of early education, school age recreation, emergency backup care and leadership development, as well as its franchising firm PRISM, LLC, and Rainbow Station International. She is also chair of the MCV Foundation Board of Trustees.
