Dean Jean Giddens and alumnae recognized by MCV Foundation Board of Trustees
Jean Giddens, Ph.D., RN, FAAN, dean and the Doris B. Yingling Endowed Chair, recently received the Robert Irby Award from the MCV Foundation Board of Trustees. The Irby Award was established in 2001 in memory of Robert Irby, M.D., an MCV rheumatologist who was devoted to securing financial support for the MCV Campus.
Giddens was one of several MCV Campus leaders and trailblazers recognized for making significant contributions to the world-class patient care, research and education that VCU Health delivers right here in our community.
Two School of Nursing alumnae were also among the honorees. Gail Johnson (B.S.’67/N) received the Eugene P. Trani MCV Campus Leadership Award. In addition, Judith Collins, RN, WHNP (Cert.’75/N), and her husband Joseph Teefey, were recognized as new Lifetime Honorary Trustees. Read more.
