Allison Gregory, M.S. RN, FNP-BC, assistant professor, participated in a trip to universities in Mexico that are collaborating with the Spanish Language and Culture for Health Care Providers (LGCC 405) course for nursing and health professional students. The trip was part of a GEO Global Impact Virtual Classroom award to develop a Spanish language and cultural competence course for nursing and health professional students using Teletandem. Teletandem is a language learning tool for students to be connected through the Internet to practice language skills with a peer who is learning English. The project seeks to develop connections between health professional students here at VCU and those at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) in Mexico City and the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Hidalgo (UAEH) in Pachuca, Mexico.

Allison Gregory attends a meeting with students and faculty at UNAM's nursing school.
