More than 80 faculty, staff, alumni and friends attended a celebration hosted by the VCU School of Nursing last week at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden to recognize Ginger Edwards, RN, FNP (B.S.’72/N; Cert. ‘75/N; M.S, ‘77/N) as the 2016 honoree of the Clinical Scholars Program. The Clinical Scholars Program provides flexible funds to support projects involving clinical practice, teaching, faculty development or clinical research for clinical, non-tenure faculty. The school will raise funds this year in honor of the clinical excellence Edwards demonstrated during her 40-year nursing career. In addition to having a strong clinical practice, Edwards was a pioneer at VCU Health in applying the use of advanced practice to specialty areas. She also mentored many others in their pursuit of advanced practice nursing careers. To donate to the Clinical Scholars Program in her honor, please contact Kate Haydon, senior director of development, at khaydon@vcu.edu or call 828-0020.
