School of Nursing faculty selected for Virginia Nurses Foundation 40 Under 40 Award
Several faculty members of the VCU School of Nursing have been recognized by the Virginia Nurses Foundation for being among the top 40 under age 40 nurses in the Commonwealth. The following were selected for the 40 Under 40 Award for exceptional rising nursing leaders: Tara Albrecht, Ph.D., RN, ACNP-BC, assistant professor; Lana Sargent, M.S.N., RN, FNP-C, GNP-BC, assistant professor; and Shelly Orr, M.S.N., RN, CNE, clinical assistant professor. They will be recognized at the 2015 Virginia Nurses Foundation Gala on Nov. 21 at the Hilton Short Pump in Glen Allen, Virginia.
Several School of Nursing faculty received honorable mention recognition for this award. They include Holly Buchanan, DNP, RN, ANP-BC, clinical assistant professor; Rachel Cloutier, M.S., RN, ACNP-BC, clinical instructor; Shelly Smith, DNP, APRN-BC, clinical assistant professor; Daphne Terrell, M.S., RN, CNRN, clinical instructor; and Tracye Proffitt, M.S., RN, ACNS-BS, CCRN, clinical instructor.
