School of Nursing recognizes spring 2015 graduates
The VCU School of Nursing honored 188 graduating students at its May 2015 Recognition Ceremony held Friday, May 8 at the Siegel Center. Commencement Exercises were held Saturday, May 9 at the Richmond Coliseum.
The school presented nursing awards to the following graduates:
• Yingling Senior Achievement Award – Johnathan Ramey
• Mabel Montgomery Award – Elizabeth Early
• Mayme B. Wilson Lacey Award – Hallel Basco
• Marguerite Nicholson Award – Katherine Connell
• Betsy Bampton RN Award – Katherine Kearney
• Temple Memorial Award – Meghan Rise
In addition to recognizing all of the graduating students during the ceremony, Jean Giddens, Ph.D., RN, FAAN, dean and professor, acknowledged four retiring faculty members, including Betsy Bampton, Ph.D., faculty emerita and RN to B.S. academic advisor; Mary Jo Grap, Ph.D., RN, ACNP, FAAN, Nursing Alumni Distinguished Professor; Nancy McCain, Ph.D., RN, FAAN, Nursing Alumni Distinguished Professor; and Ann Hamric, Ph.D., RN, FAAN, professor and associate dean of academic programs.
