Dr. Patricia Kinser Selected a VCU Clinical Faculty Scholar
Patricia Kinser, Ph.D., WHNP-BC, RN, assistant professor in the Department of Family and Community Health Nursing, was selected as a Clinical Faculty Scholar—a unique opportunity through the VCU School of Medicine and the VCU Center on Health Disparities.
The Clinical Faculty Scholars Program provides a personalized experience designed to provide junior clinical faculty with training in research methodology and extensive mentoring that culminates with the submission of a NIH grant proposal and peer-reviewed manuscripts. The three-year program provides the opportunity for clinical faculty to acquire multidisciplinary training that enables them to conduct health services and population health/health disparities research that will impact clinical policy and practice on the local and national levels. Clinical Faculty Scholars are expected to devote 30 percent of their full-time effort to research.
