SON Alumni Earn Best Bedside Manner Honors
VCU School of Nursing alumni were among the 2014 Best Bedside Manner honorees presented by Our Health magazine. In the nurse practitioner category, Julie Shotwell, RN, CPNP (M.S.’05/N; Cert.’05/N) and Donna Mitchell, RN, CPNP (M.S.’88/N) of Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU tied for third place, and George Proffitt, NP-C (B.S.’02/N; M.S.‘05/N; Cert.’05/N) of the Colonial Heights Medical Center earned honorable mention. The awards honor medical providers who were voted by the local community for their kindness, empathy and attentiveness.
