CBCR Hosts Lecture on Sleep Disorders Presented by Eileen Chasens
The Center for Biobehavioral Clinical Research welcomed guest lecturer Eileen Chasens, Ph.D., RN, associate professor of Health and Community Systems at the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing, on Jan. 8. Chasens lectured on the topic “The other 8 hours: Adding sleep to ones program of research,” which focused on the effect of sleep disorders and daytime sleepiness on management of chronic disease. Her research tests the efficacy of treatment of sleep disorders on the ability of persons with type 2 diabetes to integrate diabetes education into their daily behavior.
