This past holiday, the VCU School of Nursing Staff Assembly Volunteer Committee sponsored a local family through the Henrico Christmas Mother’s fund. The committee collected donations from School of Nursing faculty and staff, making it possible for the family of five to have a memorable Christmas. More than $400 was raised to provide the family with holiday dinner and gifts. The donated coats, hats and gloves will keep the children warm throughout winter. The family members were so moved by the kindness that they all wrote thank you letters. One of the children, a fourteen-year-old boy wrote, “Thank you for the gifts and present. I appreciate everything I have received. I hope I can return the favor and joy of Christmas to someone else. Thank you very much.”
