Women’s Health Nursing Group Hosted Presentation by Local Post-Mastectomy Tattoo Artist
The Women’s Health Nursing Group at the VCU School of Nursing hosted Amy Black, a local post-mastectomy tattoo artist and founder of the Pink Ink Fund, on Oct. 24. The Pink Ink Fund is an organization that seeks to aid people needing assistance with their post mastectomy tattoo needs as part of their Breast Reconstruction due to Breast Cancer and/or BRCA diagnosis. Black discussed the Pink Ink Fund and presented slides of her intricate work with areolar repigmentation and breast tattooing. Breast cancer survivors and clients of Black shared the importance of what the tattoos have emotionally and physically done for them.
