Nurse Practitioner Students Provide Back to School Physicals for Richmond Residents
VCU School of Nursing students performed 43 school entry physicals last week at the Richmond City Health District’s annual Back-to-School event for city residents. Four nurse practitioner students completed the physicals under the direction of faculty preceptors Allison Gregory, M.S.N., RN, FNP-BC, clinical assistant professor in the Department of Family and Community Health Nursing; Carla Nye, D.N.P., CPNP-PC, CNE, director of the Clinical Learning Center; and Leigh Small, Ph.D., RN, CPNP-PC, FNAP, FAANP, FAAN, associate professor and chair of the Department of Family and Community Health Nursing. The event was coordinated by Fay Parpart, M.S., RN, ANP-BC, AACRN, clinical assistant professor, in conjunction with Amy Popovich, M.S.N., RN, and Denise Wise of the Richmond City Health District.
