Hilaire Thompson, Ph.D., RN, ACNP-BC, CNRN, FAAN (M.S. ‘96/N), associate professor in Biobehavioral Nursing and Health Systems at the University of Washington School of Nursing, visited the School of Nursing on May 7 to speak on “Geriatric traumatic brain injury: Is age just a number?” Thompson discussed her research on preventing and improving outcomes from traumatic brain injury, with an emphasis on older adults. Her research evaluates how the immune response to traumatic brain injury is influenced by age and its relationship to outcomes following traumatic brain injury.
