Sigma Theta Tau Inducts 67 New Members
The Gamma Omega Chapter of the Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI), inducted 67 new VCU School of Nursing students on Wednesday, Nov. 13 in Younger Auditorium. Of that group, 29 inductees representing bachelor’s, master’s and Ph.D. programs attended the ceremony along with their friends and family.
The induction ceremony included congratulatory remarks from Dean Jean Giddens, Ph.D., RN, FAAN. Students received purple cords signifying their membership before lighting candles and reciting the society’s pledge. A reception followed in the Student Lounge.
Membership to Sigma Theta Tau is by invitation to students who demonstrate academic excellence or are community nurse leaders. New members are inducted at the end of each Fall and Spring semester.
