VCU Nursing Wins Student Poster Awards at SNRS
The VCU School of Nursing won two of the student poster awards at the Southern Nursing Research Society annual conference, held in Little Rock, Arkansas last week. Kristin Filler, a Ph.D. candidate, won the Top Student Poster Award with her entry, titled “Comparing Fatigue Scores across Localized Radiation Treatment Modalities for Non-Metastatic Prostate Cancer.” Marian Baxter, a December 2012 Ph.D. graduate, won a third place award for her poster, titled “Being Certain: Moral Distress in Critical Care Nurses,” co-authored with Patty Gray, chair of the Department of Adult Health and Nursing Systems. SON was well represented at SNRS with many faculty and student poster presentations.
