Richmond Magazine Features Article on 50th Anniversary of St. Philip Closing
An article about the 50th anniversary of the closing of the St. Philip School of Nursing is among the feature stories in the January edition of Richmond Magazine. Founded in 1920 at the Medical College of Virginia, St. Philip was one of the first nursing schools for African-Americans in Virginia. The article recaps a panel discussion held in September at the VCU School of Nursing to mark the 50th anniversary of St. Philip’s closing and examines diversity in today’s nursing schools and workforce.
