Local Middle Schools Visit VCU Health Sciences
The VCU School of Nursing is currently participating in the Richmond Public Schools Renaissance Program. During four days in October and November, local middle school students visit a different health sciences school on the MCV Campus to get a first-hand look at the training offered. During their time at the School of Nursing, RPS students visit the Office of Enrollment and Student Services and the Clinical Learning Center, where they participate in a hands-on activity called Build a Patient. This gives the visiting students a realistic idea of what the nursing profession is like in practice. In the pictures below, Accelerated BS students Bridget Fitzgerald and Lauren Schmidt work with students to construct a model of a patient based on a hypothetical medical scenario.
