Alvin Garcia Completes Training as Trauma Nurse Coordinator
The VCU School of Nursing congratulates alumnus Alvin Garcia, LCDR, Navy Nurse Corps (B.S. ’95/N), for completing training as a Trauma Nurse Coordinator in Afghanistan in the Joint Trauma System (JTS). He is pictured here with another VCU Nursing alumnus, Joseph Warren, RN, LTC (retired) Army Nurse Corps (B.S. ’80/N). The JTS works to improve trauma care delivery and patient outcomes using evidence-based medicine driven by the collection and analysis of data maintained in the DoD Trauma Registry. The Joint Trauma System’s work affects soldiers from the point of injury to the final stages of recovery and makes other units more capable of delivering accurate, effective on-site care. We are so proud of Garcia, Warren and all our alumni working in the armed forces!
