Nancy Jallo, Ph.D., RNC, FNP-BC, CNS, assistant professor in the School of Nursing, recently received the 2011 Outstanding Leadership in Program Award from the Virginia Chapter of the March of Dimes! This award is given annually to members demonstrating many years of active support to the Chapter. Dr. Jallo joined the Chapter Program Services Committee in 2004, where she served on the grants subcommittee and played a critical role in developing the chapter’s VA Prematurity Task Force Summary published in November 2004. She worked diligently to ensure that the Chapter’s mission activities were well planned and implemented. Dr. Jallo played a major role in orienting program and board volunteers on mission goals, as well as ensuring that all volunteers knew the key elements of the work. The Chapter is on target for the next three years with a detailed plan to continue support of CenteringPregnancy,® introducing Baby Basics® and risk reduction education with the NICU Family Support Projects all thanks to her leadership. With Dr. Jallo in charge, the Virginia Chapter of the March of Dimes looks forward to continuing to have productive reports on program efforts.
Congratulations to Dr. Jallo on her award!
