VCU School of Nursing Students Host Bullying Awareness Event at the Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club Family Fun Night
Students of SON in Dr. Melissa Gomes’ class from the Community Nursing 416, section 804 clinical volunteered on Oct. 27 at the Family Fun Night for the Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club to mentor on the topic of bullying awareness and prevention. They catered to the children by providing activities to educate, entertain, and offer support on this issue. Activities included– book readings, a short video clip on the impact of bullying, and enthusiastic talks on how to handle bullies. The kids showed a huge ethic for participation, and appeared to have enjoyed the program immensely. Check out these photos of SON students in action!
