Dr. Debra Moser, Graduate Professor and Linda C. Gill Chair in Nursing at the University of Kentucky College of Nursing, will be visiting the VCU School of Nursing on Tuesday, September 6th as a guest of the Center for Biobehavioral Clinical Research.
At 12pm in Room 1011, Dr. Moser will be presenting on the topic, “Self-care among patients with heart failure: Oxymoron or reality?”. All faculty, staff, students, and other interested individuals are welcome to attend.
Dr. Debra Moser received her graduate degrees in nursing from the University of California at Los Angeles and has served as co-editor of the Journal of Cardiovascular Nursing since 1997. She spent 12 years of critical care nursing which led her to her current program of research: working with and studying patients with coronary heart disease. As the Director of the UK Center for Biobehavioral Research in Self-Management of Cardiopulmonary Disease, Dr. Moser is researching ways to improve outcomes and quality of life in people with heart failure and other cardiac conditions.
She is currently involved with six different NIH-funded research projects, including three collaborative efforts with investigators from other institutions. Her work has been published in numerous journals, including the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, Circulation, Nursing Research, Social Science and Medicine, the American Heart Journal, the American Journal of Cardiology, and the American Journal of Emergency Medicine.
