Like most nurse practitioners, the authors have enjoyed positive collaborative relationships with the many physicians we’ve worked with over the years, including 10 physicians who’ve provided us the medical direction and supervision required for state licensure. Collectively, we have more than 100 years of experience as nurse practitioners (NPs) in Virginia, working in clinical practice, nursing education, professional organizations, health policy, and health professions regulation.
