Manisha Sigdel and Camille Richards are undergraduate research assistants for Dr. Mary Jo Grap, principal investigator for the Skin Integrity and Backrest Elevation (SIBRE) study. They were recently photographed with their undergraduate reseach poster and VCU President Dr. Michael Rao (as seen below). The SIBRE study is currently being conducted at VCUHS in three intensive care units; Medical Respiratory, Neuroscience, and Surgical Trauma and has as its primary aim to describe the impact of backrest elevation on pressure, shear force and skin integrity in critically ill patients requiring mechanical ventilation. Manisha is a chemistry major and pre-med student and Camille is a current School of Nursing student.
