We are looking forward to the opening of the Mosby Resource Center – a partnership between: VCU School of Nursing, Mosby Tenant Council, Richmond City Health District, Richmond Redevelopment & Housing Authority – on Wednesday, April 6th 2011 at 3:30 pm. The location is 1536 Coalter St. Richmond, VA 23223. Directions from the School of Nursing:
Take Leigh St. east across the Martin Luther King, Jr. Bridge toward Church Hill.
Turn left at Littlepage St.
Take the 3rd right onto Coalter St.
Activities starting at 3:30 include:
The Ribbon Cutting and Dedication Ceremony from 3:30 – 4
DJ Kevin Bledsoe from Radio One
For the kids: face painting, balloon making, hand painting by our student Anna Norwood
Food and ongoing tours of the Center.
A variety of health exhibits.
The event will end by 5:00.
A special thanks to all of the people who have volunteered time in getting the Center ready for the community. A special thanks to the Mosby Tenant Council, the Mosby Community Health Connections Group, the Richmond City Health District (Amy Popovich and her team), the Richmond Redevelopment & Housing Authority and the Mosby community citizens who have helped to plan the event and design the Center. A special thank you to all of you in the VCU School of Nursing who have helped with this endeavor. You have done everything from unpacking all of the boxes, shopping, fixing the food, cleaning, sewing – anything and everything to make this a success.
