Trip to Haiti
Dr. Rita Pickler is in Haiti this week. Here is a note from her first day of work on February 6, 2011:
“Today was our organizing day. We started with church at 7:30 with about 2000. We scanned our work sites and sorted our supplies and equipment. We also took a drive downtown and witnessed some of the earthquake devastation. The pictures do not really do justice to the destruction of some of Haiti’s treasures.
As expected the Haitians remain as warm and welcoming as I have always found them to be.
The team is looking forward to the week.”
