Are You Interested in Teaching?
We are looking for individuals to volunteer at the Whitcomb and Fairfield Clinics on select Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5 pm to 6 pm throughout the year.
To provide the most effective, distraction free health education to these women, we also provide childcare services during the session.
If you are interested in participating, come to our next meeting or contact abbotthr@vcu.edu for more information.

RAD (Rape Aggression Defense) Class for Women
Feb. 22, 24, March 1, 3 6-9 pm
VCU Police are offering a self-defense class for women of all ages over 14 and physical abilities. RAD class is a 12-hour class broken into four three-hour sessions on Feb. 22 and 24 and March 1 and 3. It teaches physical techniques to avoid becoming a victim of abduction or sexual assault. The class is free to students and $10 for faculty, staff and visitors. All classes are from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and participants must be able to attend all four classes to register. Doula Training Sessions
Saturday March 26 and Sunday, March 27 (times and location TBA)
Train to become a doula and provide emotional support to members of our community who would otherwise be going through the labor and birth process alone. Contact bunnella@vcu.edu for more information.
Who we are: An organization created for VCU nursing students, by VCU nursing students interested in women’s health.
What we do: Educate nursing students and the public about women’s health issues; Network with local healthcare providers, and volunteer locally.
Events: Monthly meetings, community outreach efforts and hosting professional speakers at the SON!
