Florence Nightingale’s lantern has become an enduring symbol for nursing. Since Sadie Heath Cabaniss, the founder of our school, established it in the Nightingale method of nursing, it is only fitting that we should honor this symbol and all for which it stands. Therefore, the VCU School of Nursing recognizes that symbol and invites you to honor an important nurse in your life by lighting the lantern in his or her name.
For each donation of $10, we will add the name of your special nurse to our lantern that will be displayed in the lobby of the School during Week of the Nurse (May 6 through 12). Your donation to the Annual Fund will support scholarships in the VCU School of Nursing, student activities (such as the Student Nurses Association and Nursing Students Without Borders), plus faculty needs.
Please write the name(s) of your nurse(s) on the card(s) below and include them in the envelope with your gift, or make your gift online.
Thank you for your consideration!
