VCU Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) Blog

The VCU HRPP is dedicated to facilitating ethically and scientifically sound research through robust review of research projects and through effective education and outreach to the VCU research community.

As part of our ongoing HRPP Transformation efforts, the VCU HRPP will be transitioning from the current RAMS-IRB system to a new IRB system later this year. To support investigators and study teams, the HRPP will begin hosting Office Hours (via Zoom) as a venue to address questions related to preparing for this upcoming transition.

***Starting Monday, May 6, 2024, the HRPP will host Office Hours twice weekly***

Mondays: 2:00PM – 4:00PM

and

Wednesdays: 10:00AM – 12:00PM

As the new system will require all studies (including existing studies) to have a protocol document, the initial purpose of Office Hours will be to provide guidance to study teams regarding writing protocols utilizing the applicable HRPP Toolkit protocol template. Later, as we move closer to implementing the new system, the purpose will be expanded to also provide guidance with Conversion Modifications for transferring the data and protocol into the new system.

Due to the anticipated high volume of attendees, Office Hours will be limited to Data Migration efforts at this time. If you need assistance with your submission for any other reason, please reach out to the study’s designated IRB coordinator, as listed in RAMS-IRB. To join an Office Hours session during one of the above designated times, please click here.

All members of the research community are encouraged to visit our HRPP Transformation Project webpage, which will be updated with additional information, resources, and tools. We also encourage signing up for the VCU HRPP/IRB Mailing List for important updates.
