*Extended VCU IRB Nomination Period: Providing Additional Time for Nominations
The Human Research Protection Program has some important updates regarding the VCU Institutional Review Board (IRB) membership nomination process that we would like to share with the VCU Community.
Recognizing the significance of the work of the VCU research community in nominating individuals for the VCU IRB, the Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) understands that recent glitches in the nomination form may have caused inconvenience. We want to assure you that these technical issues have been promptly identified and resolved, ensuring the smooth functioning of the nomination form for those with VCUHS email addresses.
In light of the recent challenges, the HRPP has decided to extend the VCU IRB nomination period to March 1, 2024. This extension is aimed at providing you and your colleagues with additional time to submit nominations and ensuring that the process remains accessible and stress-free.
*The November 22, 2023, HRPP blog post has been updated to reflect the extended deadline.*
The HRPP believes that this extension will allow you to thoroughly consider and put forth deserving candidates for the VCU IRB, contributing to the strength and diversity of our research oversight community.
Despite the resolution of the glitches, we understand that unforeseen circumstances may still arise. Therefore, if you encounter any difficulties with the nomination form, we encourage you to submit your nominations directly to the HRPP via email at [email protected]. Please include all required documentation, such as the nominee’s CV.
Your dedication to advancing ethical research is highly valued, and we appreciate your understanding as we continue to enhance the efficiency of the nomination process.
Should you have any questions or require further assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out to the HRPP team at [email protected].
Thank you for your commitment to the VCU research community.
