We are excited to announce that the nomination period for membership on our esteemed Institutional Review Board (IRB) is now open for the 2024 annual calendar. As a vital component of our commitment to ethical research practices, the IRB plays a crucial role in ensuring the protection and welfare of human subjects involved in research conducted at our institution.
Nomination Period: November 24, 2023 – March 1, 2024 *Updated deadline*
We invite all interested, qualified and dedicated individuals from diverse backgrounds and disciplines to consider applying for membership. The IRB is seeking candidates who can contribute to a broad spectrum of expertise, fostering a rich and inclusive dialogue on ethical considerations in research.
Why Join the IRB?
Serving on the IRB provides a unique opportunity to actively contribute to the ethical review process. Members are at the forefront of safeguarding the rights and well-being of research participants. The commitment involves attending a minimum of 10 convened meetings a year, conducting 10 expedited reviews, and evaluating 10 exemption or not-human-subject determinations annually.
