RAMS IRB Application Deadline and VIRBs Transition
VIRBs goes live on 8/7/25

The VCU HRPP communication plan has been a huge success! Thanks so much for responding to our newsletters and attending the VIRBs training and implementation meetings. As noted, RAMS IRB will stop accepting all applications (new expedited, exempt and full board studies, amendments, continuing reviews, closures, and event reports) as of July 18, 2025.
Your impressive engagement has led to an unprecedented number of studies for the HRPP staff to review and approve before the July 31, 2025, deadline. HRPP staff may need to prioritize which applications are reviewed prior to July 31, 2025.
If your application isn’t approved by July 31, you’ll be able to incorporate current analyst comments and then resubmit it in VIRBs starting August 7, 2025. The HRPP anticipates a shorter queue in VIRBs, leading to a speedy review for these resubmissions.
