Manuela Cucuccio

Born in Catania (Sicily) in 1984, artistic family daughter, Manuela Cucuccio is graduated in Lyric Singing with honour at The Superior Musical Studies’ Institute Vincenzo Bellini in Catania.

She has begun the child’s singing as a white voice under the guide Maestro Elisa Poidomani in the chorus of her town when she was 11, taking part in several opera and concert productions.

When she was 14, in Teatro Massimo Bellini, she performed the role of the “Drei Knaben” from Die Die Zauberflöte by Mozart, conducted by Maestro Zoltan Pesko; at 17 she has been chosen by Maestro Gustav Kuhn to sing Pastorello from Tosca; at 20 she won the role of Bianca from Puccini’s opera La Rondine at Giuseppe Di Stefano Competition in Trapani.

In 2006 she performed Lucy in Menotti’s opera The Telephone, and Oscar from Un Ballo in maschera in several theatres in Lombardia.

In 2007 she sang Bastienne from Bastien und Bastienne by Mozart in Catania, and Musetta from La Bohème in tour (Treviso, Jesi, Fermo, Venice).

She also sang L’Elisir d’amore in Messina and La Serva Padrona of Pergolesi in Catania.

In 2011 she won the Aslico Competition and sang the role of Elena from Il Cappello di Paglia di Firenze by Nino Rota in Como, Cremona, Brescia, Pavia and Rovigo.

Well-respected artist in Catania, she has been confirmed for lots of productions: in 2010 Fünfte Magd from Elektra by Richard Strauss conducted by Maestro Will Humburg, Amore from Orfeo ed Euridice by Gluck, Gilda from Rigoletto (in concert), and Musetta from La Bohème; in 2012 Susanna from Le Nozze di Figaro, in 2013 Oscar from Un Ballo in Maschera conducted by José Cura.

She has also sang Norina from Don Pasquale in Palma de Mallorca (Spain), and Serafina from Donizetti’s Il Campanello in Chieti.

In 2014 she made her debut in Zerlina from Mozart’s Don Giovanni in Gdànsk (Poland) during The Mozart Festival.

In 2015 she obteined a wonderful success as Donna Fiorilla in Rossini’s Il Turco in Italia in Catania, Orff’s Carmina Burana and Mozart’s Requiem K626.

Among the last and furthcoming engagements there are Lola from Cavalleria Rusticana, Galatea from Händel’s Acis and Galatea, Zerlina from Don Giovanni, Clorinda from Rossini’s La Cenerentola, Valencienne from Lehar’s The Merry widow in Catania and Messina.
