Dr. Henning Vauth

German pianist Henning Vauth serves as Associate Professor of Piano, Coordinator of Keyboard Studies, and Director of the Center for Wellness in the Arts at Marshall University in West Virginia (USA). He is President Elect of the West Virginia Music Teachers Association and a member of Pi Kappa Lambda (US National Music Honor Society), ISME, CMS, and MTNA. In 2017, Dr. Vauth received the WVMTA Teacher of the Year Award.

A laureate at international competitions in Italy and Norway, Henning Vauth has performed throughout the United States, in Europe, and in South America at venues such as Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center in New York, Konzerthaus in Berlin, Salle Cortot in Paris, and Centro de Artes in Goiania, Brazil. His recent professional engagements as performer, pedagogue, and lecturer include the Festival of the American Liszt Society (2018), the International Summer Academy of Music “Lüneburger Heide” in Germany (2018, 2017, and 2016), the Global Summer Institute of Music in Richmond, Virginia (2018, 2017, 2016, and 2015), the World Conference on Music Education in Glasgow, United Kingdom (2016) and Porto Alegre, Brazil (2014), the Palm Beach International Piano Festival in West Palm Beach, Florida (2013), and the Performing Arts Medicine Association Symposium in Snowmass, Colorado (2012). He is listed as co-author in the peer-reviewed journals Experimental Brain Research (2014), Human Movement Science (2009), and Movement Disorders (2004).

Henning Vauth holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance and Literature from the Eastman School of Music (University of Rochester, USA), in addition to further degrees and certificates in piano performance and pedagogy from the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien (Hannover, Germany), the Ecole Normale de Musique “Alfred Cortot” (Paris, France), and Western Michigan University (Kalamazoo, USA). He studied piano with Nelita True, Einar Steen-Nökleberg, and Nelson Delle-Vigne Fabbri, and harpsichord with William Porter. Further private piano study in master classes with Philippe Entremont.
