The Ohio Attorney General’s Office is currently seeking multiple public minded individuals for Forensic Scientist vacancies in the Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) Section within the chemistry unit of the London, Richfield, and Bowling Green Laboratories.  This position will report to the lab every day.

The successful candidate will examine and identify controlled substances. Additional duties may include, but are not limited to:

-Identifies unknown chemical compounds
-Interprets charts from instrumentation
-Performs wet chemistry, extractions, thin layer and column chromatography
-Performs various chemical, biological and microscopic examinations
-Makes conclusions and formulates opinions based on examinations performed
-Prepares accurate reports for use by law enforcement officials and courts

Minimum Qualifications

-Bachelor’s degree in a directly related science (e.g., chemistry, biology, forensic science, physics, health science, medical technology, etc.). The bachelor’s degree and course content must meet the academic requirements of the laboratory’s
accrediting body.

AND Completion of coursework in ALL of the following: 1) Organic Chemistry 1 and a lab 2) Organic Chemistry 2 and a lab and 3) Analytical Chemistry and a lab.
