Forensic Specialist III, Criminalist DNA Section-KS
To examine, identify, and analyze various types of evidence and produce written reports of findings. To testify as an
expert witness in court.
The incumbent is required to have:
a Bachelor of Arts degree, Bachelor of Science degree, or an advanced degree or its equivalent in a biology,
chemistry, or forensic science related area;
a minimum of three courses covering the subject areas of biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology, and
college course work or training that covers the subject areas of statistics and/or population genetics (per the
FBI Quality Assurance Standards for Forensic DNA Testing Laboratories)
