The position is primarily responsible for routine administrative casework functions and forensic biology laboratory work, which includes: laboratory aspects of casework, accreditation, quality assurance and control programs within the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL).
Qualifications and Education
Successful completion of a 4-year course of study from an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor’s or higher degree that included a major field of study or 24 semester course hours in: biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position and one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the CS-7 level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the competencies, knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, including but not limited to: experience in quality control procedures and accreditation standards, standard laboratory rules and safety precautions regarding chemicals, toxins, and biohazards and evidence collection and preservation procedures.
