Forensic Analytical Chemist I-Delaware
The Analytical Chemist I is the first level in this series within the Forensic Chemistry Unit (FCU). The FCU is comprised of two sections: Controlled Substances and Fire Debris. Under close supervision of a technical supervisor, the incumbent develops the knowledge/skills/abilities to conduct standardized laboratory testing to analyze and report the presence of controlled substances from evidence submitted from law enforcement agencies within the State of Delaware. Fire debris is submitted through a fire marshal after investigation of a fire-related incident.
Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:
- Possession of a Bachelors degree or higher in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Chemical Technology, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Studies, Biology or related field.
