In the February 2012 ASDA News I found this article very interesting.  “A gift and curse: Groupon and other social deals.”  The article discusses the potential legal and ethical problems dentists may suffer by offering dental care deals using this advertising media. The ADA also sent its members a letter recently warning that use of such methods to entice patients to your practice could be considered fee-splitting or gifting. Fee-splitting and offering gifts to coerce patients are prohibited by laws and regulations.
